About Josh Maley
Josh 'The Viking Maley' got his nickname because he simply looks like one, standing at a massive 6ft 6". He is 34 years old, but technically only 8 and a half as this body builder was born on a leap year!
He isn't a competitive strongman says he is "a big fan of the sport and have followed it for years." As for bodybuilding, that all began after having low self esteem and body confidence as a teenager due to his 'skinny' build. The gym helped him gain that confidence which 'quickly developed into a passion' and after competing in his first show in 2010 at the age of 22 he was 'hooked.'
Much alike our strongmen, Josh trains 4/5 times per week however is only eating 5,000 calories on training days and 4,000 on non training days. Weighing in at '335lbs but soon to be leaner and lighter'. He is in a cut phase as his end goal for 2022 is to 'stand on stage looking the best I have to date' with a view to 'develop my name as a high level coach who can help others make huge strides towards their goals.'
To date, Josh says his career highlight would be 'Winning the amateur Mr Universe in 2017 and the Pro Mr Universe in 2019.' Picking his favourite exercise would be 'like asking to choose your favourite child' and looks forward to continuing to love the sport in the future.
His favourite Silverback product is 'probably the shorts. Finding good quality training shorts that fit my legs has been the bane of my life in recent years and Silverback have saved the day there!'
