Lucy Underdown, a British strongwoman, has quickly made a name for herself with her exceptional deadlifting ability and rapid ascent in the sport. Originally an athlete in shot put and discus, Lucy transitioned to strength sports in 2018 after being inspired by strongmen like Terry Hollands at her gym. Her natural talent for lifting soon became apparent, and she quickly established herself as a formidable competitor in the strongwoman arena.
In 2021, Lucy made history by becoming the first woman to deadlift 300 kg (661 lbs), a groundbreaking achievement that cemented her status as one of the strongest women in the world. She pushed the boundaries even further in 2024, breaking her own record by deadlifting 325 kg (716 lbs) at the World Deadlift Championships.
Lucy’s success extends beyond deadlifting. She consistently places highly in both national and international competitions, finishing third at the UK’s Strongest Woman in 2021 and 2022, and winning England’s Strongest Woman in 2022.
